Walter “Pop” Smith Little League, Inc. (WPSLL) is committed to providing a safe, welcoming environment where every player, volunteer, and family feels supported. Safety is an important part of every season, and we believe it is a shared responsibility that helps everyone enjoy the game with confidence and peace of mind.

As part of Little League® SAFE, WPSLL has taken the following steps to protect children, prepare volunteers, and maintain safe facilities and playing conditions. From equipment checks and emergency planning to strong child protection practices and volunteer training, our goal is to create a positive, fun, and secure experience for every participant.

  • WPSLL Zero Tolerance Policy for protecting children and protecting our little league environment through legal mandates, the Little League Child Protect Program, and a unilateral Code of Conduct.

  • WPSLL Volunteer Requirements and Training defines volunteer requirements and explores training opportunities, support and resources available locally and through the Little League University.

  • WPSLL Concussion Protocols provide a basic foundation for concussion awareness and understanding, including signs and symptoms of a concussion and how to respond.

  • WPSLL Player Equipment Safety Standards informs parents and coaches of playing and safety equipment requirements; equipment provided by the league vs. families; and equipment and facility safety checks.

  • Child Mental Well Being Information and Resources for players, volunteers, and parents/guardians.

  • (PENDING) WPSLL Emergency Action Plan reviews emergency contacts, procedures and practices; first aid training and supplies; and, an overview of the Little League insurance program.

  • (PENDING) WPSLL SAFE Summary is a consolidated overview of all WPSLL safety policies, procedures, field and facility inspections, and, efforts to promote safety at every level of our league.
