Welcome to Walter Pop Smith Little League!

Walter “Pop” Smith Little League Baseball, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization in in New Haven, Connecticut dedicated to serving the children, families, and broader City of New Haven by hosting year-round youth baseball programming.

Our programs include Spring Baseball, Fall Baseball, and periodic off-season clinics.

We serve children ages 4 through 12 across four divisions of play:

Tee-ball (4-6)
Coach Pitch (7-8)
Minors (9-10)
Majors (11-12)

We follow the Official Regulations, Playing Rules, and Operating Policies as published by Little League® Baseball, Incorporated, Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

2026 Spring/Summer Baseball Season

Welcome to the Walter "Pop" Smith Little League 2026 Spring/Summer Registration!

Player Registration is Open Until March 31, 2026!

Walter Pop Smith Little League is open all children league ages 4 to 7 from all geographic communities and children league ages 8 to 12 who live or attend school in the following New Haven neighborhoods: Amity, Beaver Hills, Dixwell, Dwight, Downtown (Yale Area), East Rock, Edgewood, Hill (above Congress Ave.), Newhallville, Prospect Hill, West Rock, Westville, and West River.

We offer four levels of play:

- T-Ball Division: Ages 4-6 (Born Sept 2019 – Aug 2022)

- Coach Pitch Division: Ages 7-8 (Born Sept 2017 – Aug 2020). Note: League age 6-year-olds may register if they have at least one year of T-Ball experience.

- Minor Player Pitch Division: Ages 9-10 (Born Sept 2015 – Aug 2017)

- Major Player Pitch Division: Ages 11-12 (Born Sept 2013 – Aug 2015)

The player registration fee is $85 per player, with a $10 credit for each additional child. Payments can be made via Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or checking account. Please note that an online $3.00 processing fee will be added, and all fees are non-refundable. You will receive a receipt via email upon completion.
