Welcome to Walter Pop Smith Little League!

Walter “Pop” Smith Little League Baseball, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization in in New Haven, Connecticut dedicated to serving the children, families, and broader City of New Haven by hosting year-round youth baseball programming.

Our programs include Spring Baseball, Fall Baseball, and periodic off-season clinics.

We serve children ages 4 through 12 across four divisions of play:

Tee-ball (4-6)
Coach Pitch (7-8)
Minors (9-10)
Majors (11-12)

We follow the Official Regulations, Playing Rules, and Operating Policies as published by Little League® Baseball, Incorporated, Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

2026 Spring/Summer Baseball Season

Welcome to the Spring/Summer 2026 Walter "Pop" Smith Little League Registration!

NOTE! EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION of $50 will be in effect from January 8th thru February 22nd, 2026. ($35 Discount to be given at Checkout)

Beginning January 8, 2026, registration will be open for T-Ball (ages 4-6), Minors Coach Pitch (ages 7-8), Minors Player-Pitch (ages 9-10), and Majors (ages 11-12).

The Walter “Pop” Smith Little League is open to all Children of ages 4 thru 12 who live or go to school in the New Haven neighborhoods of Amity, Beaver Hills, Dixwell, Dwight, Downtown (Yale Area), East Rock, Edgewood, Hill (above Congress Ave.), Newhallville, Prospect Hill, West Rock, Westville and West River. Online registration will allow you to complete contact information, sign up for player participation, sponsorships, or to volunteer, as well as submitting payment.

An EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION of $50 will be in effect from January 8th thru February 22nd, 2026. ($35 Discount to be given at Checkout) Beginning February 23rd, the cost of registration will be $85, with $10 credit for each additional player. (only on the $85 fee) Registration will close on April 1. To complete registration through our secure site, please have your Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or checking account information available. Following the completion of registration, you will see a charge on your account and you will receive a return email with a receipt.

Once again this year the T-Mobile Registration Grant is available for those who are eligible; it will be available beginning January 15th. To get the grant, please register for it by going to our homepage, and click on T-Mobile Grant. Please do that as soon as possible, as they run out of funds quickly.
