Welcome to Walter Pop Smith Little League!

Walter “Pop” Smith Little League Baseball, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization in in New Haven, Connecticut dedicated to serving the children, families, and broader City of New Haven by hosting year-round youth baseball programming.

Our programs include Spring Baseball, Fall Baseball, and periodic off-season clinics.

We serve children ages 4 through 12 across four divisions of play:

Tee-ball (4-6)
Coach Pitch (7-8)
Minors (9-10)
Majors (11-12)

We follow the Official Regulations, Playing Rules, and Operating Policies as published by Little League® Baseball, Incorporated, Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

2026 Spring/Summer Baseball Season

Welcome to the Walter "Pop" Smith Little League 2026 Spring/Summer Registration!

Register NOW and take advantage of our $50 Early Bird registration fee per player until February 22, 2026. Starting on February 23, 2026 our regular low-cost registration fee of $85, with a $10 credit for each additional player, will apply until the closing of our registration period on April 1, 2026. (NOTE: The $35 Early Bird special discount will be taken off our regular $85 registration fee at checkout. To complete player registration through our secure site, please have your Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or checking account information available. Online registration will allow you to complete contact information, sign up for player participation, donate to the league, or to volunteer, as well as submitting payment. Following the completion of registration, you will see a charge on your account from Walter Pop Smith Little League. You will also receive a return email with a receipt. (All registration fees are non-refundable.)

Our league is open to all children league ages 4 to 7 from all geographic communities AND children league ages 8 to 12 who live or go to school in the New Haven neighborhoods of Amity, Beaver Hills, Dixwell, Dwight, Downtown (Yale Area), East Rock, Edgewood, Hill (above Congress Ave.), Newhallville, Prospect Hill, West Rock, Westville and West River.

We offer four (4) levels of fun and exciting Little League Baseball play:

T-Ball Division for league ages 4-6 (Born between Sept 2019-Aug 2022)

Coach Pitch Division for league ages 7-8 (Born between Sept 2017-Aug 2020)

(NOTE: League age 6 years may register for Coach Pitch having played at least 1 year of T-Ball)

Minor Division for league ages 9-10 (Born between Sept 2015-Aug 2017)

Major Division for league ages 11-12 (Born between Sept 2013-Aug 2015)
